 | Do you rebind/ refurbish old and/or rare books?
 | No we do not offer that service. Rebinding old
books is a very time consuming and difficult process, and at this point we just
don't have the time, or the man power.
|
|
 | Do you guarantee your products longevity?
 | These books are all handcrafted (no machinery is used)
therefore Leslie is involved in each part of the bookbinding process. Leslie has
books dating back to 1991 when she first started binding that are as intact as the
day they were made. d'Vyne Wrytes has had customers that have come back to the
festivals and praise the worthiness of the books. Unless the books are unbelievably
abused they will last a lifetime! |
 | The Cord Bound books are refillable. This
means that the pages are meant to be replaced. The covers themselves will last a long
time but the paper inside is hole punched and the integrity is only
so strong.
|
|
 | Can you scroll, burn, sew, carve, etc. my
initials into the cover of the book?
 | No, we are not able to do that because the
leather we use is not a tooling leather.
|
|
 | Can you bind pages that are mailed to you?
 | The Refillable hand laced books are perfect for
this type of project. The sheets of paper can be removed and run through
your computer printer. Refill the book with your printed material
for a unique one of a kind printed book for yourself or a loved one!

|
 | Where is d'Vyne Wrytes located?
 | Right now our store fronts are the
Renaissance Festivals,
local arts and craft shows, and the web site.
Leslie currently resides in Colorado.

|
 | Are the Full Bound
Signature books hardcover, or soft?
 | These are hardcover books.
|
|
 | The leather has a scratch/mark on it, was it that?
In keeping with my desire to create books which emulate the medieval -
renaissance period as close as possible I only use high grade genuine leather
in its natural state. Which means the leather has not be sanded and
refinished with a paint substance and a fake grain. As testament to the
genuineness of the leather you may notice distinguishing characteristics
caused by nicks, scratches, scars and wrinkles. Remember the
leather once covered a live animal.
These marks create a unique and one-of-a-kind feature only your custom crafted
item will have!
|
 | Can you make the flaps square, straight up and
down instead of the rough uncut look?
|
 | Is the parchment acid free?
 | Yes! |
